New York Hotel Bargains--But Only on Weekends
Weekday hotel rooms in Manhattan have been tough, if not quite impossible, to find this fall. But there are weekend rooms available and there are deals, at least by New York's stratospheric rate standards. The Phillips Club [http://www.phillipsclub.com] (212-835-8800), an extended-stay hotel near Lincoln Center, offers weekend rates of $250 a night for a junior suite and $300 for one-bedroom suites. The prices are valid through November 27. The Benjamin [http://www.thebenjamin.com] (888-4-BENJAMIN) opened earlier this year and offers weekend rates of $282 a night. The price, which includes breakfast for two or free parking, is valid through December 24. At The Kitano, a Japanese-style hotel on Park Avenue, weekend rates start at $260 a night (two-night minimum applies). Valid through December 31, the "Luxury Leisure Breaks" package includes breakfast and discounts at Macy's and Bloomingdale's. Book through Summit Hotels [http://www.summithotels] at 800-457-4000. Finally, the two-night "Born to Shop Weekend Package" at the Doral Park Avenue [http://www.doralparkavenue.com] (877-99-DORAL) includes room, breakfast, discount coupons at several shops, and a bundle of New York shopping guides. The two-night price starts at $448.

Special Savings Around the World
Destination Europe (800-835-1555) [http://www.skydrive.com] is offering reduced rates on business-class tickets to Europe. Roundtrip prices begin at $2,787 for flights to Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Rome, Madrid and Amsterdam. The fares are valid November 1 through March 31, excluding December 2-January 9. Flights are on Northwest and/or KLM. To celebrate its renovation, The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore (800-942-5050) [http://www.shangri-la.com] has created the "Horizon Reborn Package," which is valid through June 30. For S$299 (about US$177) guests receive accommodations on the Horizon Club concierge level; breakfast; access to the 24-hour Horizon Club lounge with free beverages, cocktails and appetizers; and complimentary suit-pressing.

The Hotel Hot Sheet
A 156-unit Summerfield Suites Hotel (305-269-1922) [http://www.summerfieldsuites.com] opened October 15 just south of Miami International Airport. Through December 15, opening rates are $89 a night for a one-bedroom suite and $119 for a two-bedroom unit. The prices include breakfast, but are available only by calling the hotel direct or through travel agents. The Westin San Francisco Airport (800-WESTIN-1) has a special Thanksgiving Rate of $79 a night from November 21-November 28. Downtown, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco (800-233-1234), the Holiday Rate of $139 is valid from November 19 to December 29. In Atlanta, five Marriott hotels (877-ATL-STAY) have posted weekend Spirit of America rates from November 6 to January 29. Prices range from $113 to $195 a night and include: accommodations, parking, breakfast for two, and passes to the Atlanta History Center and the new Norman Rockwell exhibition at the High Museum of Art. A holiday rate of $199 a night is available at the Regal U.N. Plaza (800-222-8888) in New York between November 21-25 and December 19-29. Meanwhile, the Peninsula New York (800-262-9467) knocks 40 percent off its standard room rate of $535 a night from January 1-February 29, 2000. The price during the sale period is $295.
